| - I can't actually review the dental work since I was never able to actually get in to see any dentists. I called on a number of occasions to make an appointment, only to have the phone ring and ring incessantly. Finally, I decided to make an appointment online, only to have the appointment request ignored for several days. Due to my persistence, I was finally able to call in and make an appointment, which I was actually thrilled about. I can't say that the receptionist was warm or even friendly, so that was a bit off putting. I felt as though I was bothering her by asking to come in and be seen.
After I was finally able to make an appointment, I went online to fill out all of their forms. And there were a lot of forms! I understand this is part of the process, but one which I felt could have been streamlined a bit. I have no idea the number of times I had to put in my employer and employer's address, but it was several. It felt as though many of the questions were unnecessarily duplicitous. Nevertheless, I persevered and filled out all of the forms because I assumed it would help with the insurance process.
This week, I received a call saying that the office has decided they will be closed every other Monday now so they can take some extra time off, and they had to reschedule my appointment. It didn't seem to matter that I had to move around my work schedule to fit them in, particularly when they were telling me that they couldn't take me at certain times because of their own lunch. Again, I understand, but felt a bit put off that #1, they feel being open on a Monday is too stressful, and #2, their lunch schedule was more important than their clients. As a professional, I rarely get to eat lunch because of my client's needs, and certainly don't get to take every other Monday off because I feel like it. Again, I decided to work with them and reschedule. While I had them on the phone, I wanted to confirm that they had received my insurance information which I had diligently filled out and submitted. Turns out, they hadn't. It seemed to have gotten lost somewhere in their cyberspace, meaning I spent an hour of my life providing them information which they used to line a virtual birdcage. The receptionist, who gave me the same warm and fuzzy feeling as the original receptionist, took down all my insurance information, again, before re-booking my appointment so as not to conflict with their important vacation and/or lunch schedules.
Imagine my surprise when I received a call 30 minutes later telling me that the appointment I had booked, and put a credit card down for, conflicted with another appointment, and they had to reschedule. Again. By this point, I had given up. They clearly don't have a working organizational system, which concerns me. How do I know they aren't going to mix up my dental records with someone else, or continue to charge me for things they can't seem to figure out.
Ultimately, I decided to book with another dentist in the area. It was shockingly easy - I called, someone answered and an appointment was made. Looks like I'll be using another dentist for all my dental needs - one who can figure out a calendar system.
