Complaint: My child has attended Maxwell Preschool since March of this year. I would like to begin with informing you that my child is harmed on a weekly, or more basis. She has bruises in random places like her back thighs, scratches all over her face and arms, other kids pulling her hair and throwing her on the ground (I've seen this happen), and bite marks on her arms & back. I feel that there are too many children for 1 or two people to handle.
I have walked in numerous times to several rooms to find my child and there is about 30 kids for 1 adult. I have asked if that is illegal and the director has said yes. This is an ongoing problem. My child is with the 3s and all of the teachers (Ms. Jenny and another Native American worker) look very overwhelmed with their duties with the amount of volume of kids they have to watch over. I pay tuition to have someone take good care of her and I finally withdrew her from the preschool.
Also, the main hallway is always wet an this can cause a child to slip and fall. One 11/7/2013, I told the front staff lady that was sitting on her chair and she did not do anything about it. I feel Shannon the director is over worked because she never has time to take a breath from what I can observe. She says she will take care of my concerns and my child still continued to get hurt.
I have complained so many times about my child including the time when my child had to get x-rays from a BIG fall she had outside on the concrete. The last thing I want to complain about is that lately my child's ouchy reports have been concealed from me. She has gotten hurt twice this week and nobody has written an ouchy report. Maxwell preschool is clearly understaffed and they have too many kids and not enough eyes to watch them from hurting each other!
There are MANY ouchy reports on file with Maxwell that they give me EVERY SINGLE WEEK! I have taken photographs of some of the injuries my child has incurred while under the care of Maxwell Preschool.
Other Info: My child has gotten hurt numerous times and I believe this should be filed with CPS to have them perform an investigation. Would it be a good idea to contact CPS?
