| - I'm excited to see what Hop Nuts has in store for us. So far, so good, but I imagine it only gets better from here. I ordered a guest tap, a pint of the Lagunitas Fusion 26 to start with while the bartender worked on my flight. There was no way I was leaving here without trying all of their house brewed beers so a sampler was definitely the way to go. The flight consists of all 5 Hop Nuts brews in 6oz tasters for $12.
When the flight came, they also brought over a bowl of freshly poured bar mix. Freshly poured is the key here. I'm a hand washer but I don't know you, maybe you're not. Both tenders were friendly, giving info on all the beers and asking what I liked. My 2 favorites were the Imperial Stout and (surprisingly) the Golden Ale which isn't normally my style of beer. The flight also included a Pale Ale, IPA and Double IPA. I also got a free 6oz taster with my yelp check in and chose the Pumpkin Porter guest tap. Whoever chose the guest brews did a bang up job. The fusion and the pumpkin were both worth ordering again. All beers, house brewed and guest taps, are $6 a pint.
There were only a handful of patrons at the bar as they are still in their "soft opening" stage and it was only about 5:00 on a Monday. A few people were smoking (gag) but they do have a big roller, garage like door facing the street and it was open, so that's a plus. I'm excited to see what they do with the patio area out front. Seems like a great place to spend a little time on First Friday, especially as the weather heats up. I'm hoping to find myself parked out there on a bar stool, beer in hand.
