| - My friends and I went to Breadfruit and Rum Bar on Friday night. I was the last one to show up, but from what I was told, was the host wouldn't sit us because everyone wasn't present. He even offered to sit them at a table sef for 4, but my friends said no cause I was coming. When I arrived, he took us on the patio and sat us at a table for 6, which confused us because the table had been empty before my arrival. After they told me about their experience with the host, I told them I had checked out previous reviews and seen a couple stating the host is rude. We joked that hosts must come up with various ways to continue putting off customers for the sake of continuing the rude reputation.
Our waiter was nice, but didn't seem to enthusiastic (probably a long night). All of us were having a good time and taking most everything with a grain of salt, but he just wouldn't perk up any. He did bring us these tasty little mint leaves gelatin thing (I forgot what it was called) to cleanse our palate for the meal. It was quite nice and refreshing.
Our food was pretty good. I ordered the tofu along with my friend. She said hers was cold, but mine was warm. Others got salad and chicken and enjoyed their meals, nothing that stands out too much. I take that back, there was a slice of bell pepper, perfectly cooked...that little bit was simply amazing! The ginger beer and Sorrel were both delicious. If you decide to go, I definitely recommend both drinks. However if you do go, order your drinks early. It took 10 minutes each for a bottle of red stripe and a pina colada.
I gave this place two stars, because other than the drinks (when we got them) and bell pepper slice, nothing else was memorable. Maybe I'll try it again eventually and see if we went on an off day.
