| - Let me start by saying, up until my last experience, I would have given Wine and Canvas 4 or 5 stars. However, my last visit was enough to make me not want to go back.
When Wine and Canvas first opened, they used different locations throughout the valley, and depending on where you were, some venues were better than others, but for the most part, it was fun and you could get a decent painting out of it. And most of all, you and your friends have a good night.
Now they're more popular and then they moved into their own studio. They pack everyone in like sardines and expect people to be able to paint. It was so crowded that the lady behind me nudged me about 5 or 6 times throughout the entire night because she was stretching or leaning back slightly to look at her painting. On top of that, because I was sitting on the edge, anytime anyone from the center had to get out, I had to stand up. Frankly, it's a little annoying when you're trying to concentrate on your painting.
Now if it were only that, I wouldn't complain. But what got me the most was one of the worker. My friend asked for some red paint, and granted it wasn't part of the color scheme, he gave it to her. When I asked him for some myself, he told me to use hers. Okay. Fine. Then as we were painting, I ran out of some of the color we WERE using and he comes by me and tells me that I COULDN'T have more because I had some.
I get it. I had some, but I needed more. But seriously. I paid $35 and you can't give me one stupid dollop of paint? It wouldn't have been a big deal, but his attitude was what got me the most. Enough to make me not want to talk to my friends the rest of the night because I was furious.
I have been to Wine and Canvas over 10 times! And each time I go, I usually invite at least 3 or 4 of my friends to go with me, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed going at first. I even traveled across town to go to this company even when there was another company down the street from my house.
Obviously this company is starting to get more popular and their focus is not on customer service as it used to be. It's disappointing and now, they've lost several customers because my friends and I will NOT be returning there ever.
