  • George is one of the finest classic hair stylists (OK, barbers!) in Madison - and somehow one of the best kept secrets. Those that try him tell others, but he really doesn't advertise -- relies on good referrals by satisfied clients. His shop is located on Level "A", one floor below the main lobby of the Concourse Hotel. I met him when I started working on the Capitol Square and he was (without fanfare) the preferred barber for dozens of legislative and capitol staffers, legislators, state officials, lobbyists, business owners, a few sports stars, celebs, and even a couple of Wisconsin governors. Word of his warm personality, attention to detail and quality work has been spread from one satisfied customer to another for years. George has some good stories and he'll talk about politics or styles or sports - but he's not a gossip. He has cut and styled my hair for more than 30 years and I've always received lots of compliments on the styling. His rates are in the bottom third of the range and in my opinion, a real bargain.
