  • Recently purchased a 1999 Toyota Tacoma with 212K miles - Brakes felt a little weak, the temp gauge was not working, the steering wheel adjustment had broken, and there was some oil on the engine block - however, the truck ran well, idled well, and had good compression - figured had a seal needing replaced, brakes needing replaced - figured approx $1500 in costs. Took it to a competitor (big name). After a week, they were still unable to fix the temp gauge - they also told me the brakes were excellent and told me the steering wheel column adjustment was missing a part that was irreplaceable and my best option was to go buy a new steering column from the dump...... and note: they didn't find any leaks - interesting because oil was dripping out..... Never having used Accurate Automotive, but seeing the great reviews, I requested a quote via their web site - it was 6:30pm on a Monday Night, and @ 7:15pm my phone rang, it was Lee, the owner. They had been closed for over 2 hours. He scheduled me the next day, and even gave me a ride home after dropping off my truck to his shop. I never mentioned the oil leak or the breaks, just the temp gauge and steering column, and true to their reputation, Lee's folks were thorough and 3 hours later I got a call that the rear brake shoes were bad, they had identified an oil leak requiring a seal replacement, had fixed the steering column adjustment and were working through the temp gauge issue. There were some challenges in identifying the culprit for the temp gauge issue, therefore my truck needed to spend a few nights with the team - but Josh (the Aussie) called me everyday, sometimes more than once, just to keep my in the loop. When they were all done with my truck, Lee discounted the price because I was a first-time customer and to stay w/in the initial estimates of repair - that is a man of integrity. And Josh the Aussie, he wouldn't let my truck leave the shop until he was personally satisfied that it was running top notch. I will never take my vehicles to another shop - Accurate Automotive has earned my business for life.
