I came here for the first time this fall and I hope to venture out to Gilcrease at least once a season to experience the variety of items offered. This country girl misses the outdoors and Gilcrease north of town gives a tiny hint to farming life with the rows and rows of fruit and vegetables which I was still shocked are able to grow in this darn HEAT! What a great place to take children to show them where food comes from. I wish my school would have field trips out here. I stood in line for 20 minutes for the coveted apple cider donuts and apple cider. I have to say I liked the donuts, but the pear cider was something I still think about.
Come prepared for Vegas weather and dress in clothes that can get dirty and get ready to tire out the kiddos with a tractor ride and lots of walking. Parking is across the street which will add to your step count for the day.
Support your local farmers and come on out to the Gilcrease Orchard. Check their website for seasonal hours of business.
A must do on the exploring Vegas bucket list.
