Could never get enough of this trail.
A group of girlfriends went up here this morning for a birthday hike to what turned out to be a warm, rejuvenating experience. This time, we continued west to the running stream (after the sign that says Pine Creek 0.9 miles), a spot I didn't get to see the last time I went here. Beautiful scenery. We lounged on the big rocks and spent a while just talking.
Every adventure always opens up my eyes. Today, we saw a water strider, something I've only encountered through my biology textbooks the past months. Not a lot of birds today, sadly. Loved the lush forest as always and couldn't beat the meadow. Easy and great for beginners but also just as great for the experienced hiker who's looking into taking a break from rock scrambling and immersing themselves in the scenery.
This is a popular trail and should you choose to hit it during a long weekend, expect a constant inflow of other fellow hikers shuffling behind you. For a quieter experience (and one with more birds), opt for the week days.
