I worked at Cafe La Bellitalia in high school - over a decade later and it still is a no-frills, reasonably priced Italian place with a great red sauce (on the sweeter side), enormous portions, and heavy-handed servings of cheese. What more do you need, honestly? My favorite dishes are the chicken or eggplant parm and the baked mostaccioli. And importantly, the hostesses and wait staff are all friendly and helpful! Glad to have this gem on the Northside.
