A few months ago I had a significant issue with my MacBook. There appeared to be a rapidly failing disk. Fortunately I use many backup methodologies (TimeMachine, DropBox) so I wasn't so concerned about my data. But I could not afford to have my MacBook gone for a long period of time for repairs. Even 2-3 days would be crippling as I rely on my Mac for my business (painting contractor doing proposals in the field). I took it in to MacMedia on a Saturday at 10:00 a.m. They gave me several options... one of which was to move to a larger disk. I could wait 2 days for the Apple Care to kick in and there would be no charge or move to a larger disk for a very fair price. I decided to do that. They indicated they would be everything they could to get it done that day but it may be difficult to do...
Well... 4 hours later they called and said it was ready. I think they saw the look of panic on my face of not having a primary business tool!
So... kudos to they guys at MacMedia and helping to pull my butt out of a sling!
