| - I'd always wanted to try Wanda's Pie in the Sky because I'd heard nothing but great things about it. So yesterday after dinner at King's Cafe, my friend and I decided to check it out before we hit the dance floor in Richmond Hill. (Actually, we were looking for a place to read for an hour and Wanda's was the most convenient).
The interior of the cafe, although it was no where near chic and mod, it was a nice and pleasant, perfect for students and the artsy types who want a casual place to read or write, or just relax over coffee and desserts.
I was pleased to find that this cafe has 2 vegan desserts available for immediate consumption upon ordering: the vegan cupcake and cookie. Although the server told me they do have vegan pies, those pies are only available as a whole pie and you have to call them to place an order. I was disappointed that they did not have a vegan pie available for customers to enjoy at the cafe, after all, isn't it all about the pies here? The drip coffee they served was a mild roast, not too acidic, which was perfect for an after supper drink; it also complimented the vegan cookie well. The cookie was ok, it was a tad sweet, but it was still delightful.
Although my visit to this cafe was a tad brief and the experience wasn't that exciting, I wouldn't rule out coming back to Wanda's, especially if I'm in the neighborhood and looking to kill time.
