  • This beautiful area is a pleasure to drive through when one chooses to take in all the desert has to offer in a peaceful scenic drive. Living in Boulder City was our choice back almost 20 years ago largely due to this remarkable area. One may commute from BC through the recreation area rather than getting on the freeway to get to Henderson or Las Vegas. The scenic drive rarely has any traffic and the road is perfect with only taking in the scenery being a problem for drivers. There are several places to safely and easily pull off and take photos or simply chill and enjoy the desert beauty. I purchased a pass which saves money if this drive is one you make on a regular basis. Certainly we all desire the lake to have it's full water levels return and it's difficult to see it so low however the area is none the less a joy to drive through. Stop in at The Marina if you have little ones who enjoy feeding the carp popcorn which can be purchased there. They also have a nice place to sit and enjoy a meal while you're there.
