  • STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOUSE OF HORRORS!!! The Dental Clinic definitely needs better supervision. I had a root canal by students (4th year Alez Zusin & 3rd year Yev). They did NOT schedule a follow up for the crown. [Instead they scheduled another root canal six (6) weeks away for a good filling that Yev displaced while doing investigative work on my #5 tooth,] Alex Zusin did NOT fill in a complete temporary on tooth #19 molar where he did a root canal to protect the tooth until I would have a crown placed (for which - also - there was NO appointment made for a crown). Doctors Johns and Greenway supervised. I did NOT know this until I got home and SAW a huge hole (cavity) in the #19 tooth where they did the Root Canal. The next day I called their Emergency phone line. (I had been previously warned by an "insider" that they do NOT get you in for immediate help IF you have an emergency ... I did NOT believe this could be true but found out the hard way.) I finally received a call back from Dr. Bowman and explained to him the situation to him: 1. NO temporary filling; and, 2. NO appointment for a crown. And, that only the periphery of the tooth was intact which could cause a breakdown of the existing structure. NOTE: I have had several root canals and NEVER was there NOT a "cap" or temporary filling done to protect the subject tooth until a crown would be placed there. I finally received a call from 4th Year student Alex Zusin who did NOT set me an appointment until 12 days away. As a result, the tooth above surface (periphery that was NOT sealed) fractured. When I came for the appointment both the students (Alex Zusin and Yev) denied my account to one of the investigating (supervisory) Doctors (dentist) to whom I complained. As a result of the tooth fracturing with NO filling protecting it, they had to extract my tooth. Therefore I ended up with NO TOOTH in the #19 molar position. I understand that students are learning at the clinic; however, this is NO excuse for NOT using or having "common sense" with actions such as: 1. Not placing a temporary filling or cap in the subject area; and, 2. Not even making an appointment for a crown to be placed in the subject tooth. Also, the school needs BETTER OVERSIGHT by the supervisory doctors ... AND ... better response to valid emergency situations (especially in response). I hold three (3) LIFETIME CREDENTIALS to teach in higher education [college] and this institution (dba: Midwestern University Dental Institute) definitely is lacking in proper instruction as well as oversight. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY!!!
