  • Went on one of the Sunset tours this week. I have been kayaking in the past but not for a while. The tour was level one - no special skill needed. The route of the tour was great - would love to do this again BUT I would rent and go at my own pace. For a level one tour, I thought the pace was way too fast. I struggled to keep up with the group and did not enjoy it because I was constantly focused on trying to keep up. I think the others in the tour were more experienced. There is no instruction. I was a bit disappointed that even when I fell pretty far behind and was obviously struggling, neither of the two guide leaders dropped back to offer advice or encouragement. This looks like a great place to rent kayaks or go on tour if you are experienced - in my experience, the tours are not for beginners.
