| - I think all of the positive reviews about Little Saigon actually clouded my judgement for a bit. I came back to this restaurant for a second time recently because I had forced myself to believe this place was above average due to all of its glowing reviews.
Now that I think about it, it really isn't that great - both times I came were on a Saturday afternoon, both times had a pretty lengthy wait time for a pho restaurant (~10+ minutes), and both times the food was decent but the service was meh.
So far, I've tried the house special pho, vermicelli, and deep fried spring rolls. These are all standard and popular dishes - tastes pretty good but not good enough for this place to have an above average rating on Yelp.
The service here kinda sucks. I'm not one to complain about my seating, but I seem to always end up at the smallest table for two right by the door. It's an awful seat because the door is always opening and closing, leaving you very cold in the winter, and there are always people lining up and waiting to get a table right by where you're trying to eat. I understand this may be out of their control. However, the table is so tiny that it could barely fit all of the dishes I ordered. Once the appetizers were finished, the servers didn't bother taking them away, leaving me in an uncomfortable position (when I was already pretty uncomfortable) to eat the main course. It was really difficult trying to speak up and get a server's attention to either take a plate away, ask for sauces, napkins, or the bill throughout my whole meal.
Overall, pho should be quick and easy and this place has a lot of unnecessary wait times that aren't worth waiting for. I probably won't be back.
