It's virtually impossible to get any kind of authentic Persian pastries in NY, so whenever I come to Toronto, I pretty much use up all my cheat meals for the year and just indulge in their fabulous zoolbia bamieh. Tastes just as I remember from Tehran. Fresh, sweet, sticky perfection.
My partner (born/bred/raised in Iran) loves the cookies and the rollet, says they're top notch. I'd rather just eat tons of z/b (I can't get enough of the stuff).
Skip the round cakes that are in the display in the front on the left. We got one for my birthday when we were there in April, a chocolate mousse cake. It wasn't delicious and it tasted grocery-store-bought. Our hosts (born/raised in Iran but in Toronto 20+ years) said these are not made on-site but purchased elsewhere and brought here for resale (apparently everyone knows that, but in case you don't!). I wish I had known that before I bought it -- I would have just put a candle in a bamieh instead :)
I've never sat inside so I'm not sure how the table service is or how any of the drinks are. But counter service has always been quick and friendly. They have a good variety of ribbons to tie the boxes up with if you're taking them to someone's home. All our orders of pastries have always come in white cardboard boxes with a "Red Rose Patisserie" sticker on them.
The ice cream is also delicious, per other family members. Love this place! It's a definite must-stop every time we come to Toronto.
