After seeing so many great reviews and hearing great things about Fukumimi, my bf and I decided to give it a try. Ramen is one of our favorite dishes and we are always up for trying new places. We thought that maybe we would be able to find a new ramen spot. When we first looked at the menu we were surprised by the low prices, the lowest we've seen. Especially with it coming with corn and chashu?! We thought that was awesome. I ordered the Tonkatsu, miso ramen with nori (which our server didn't refer to as nori and seemed a bit confused until she realized it was seaweed).
After a short wait, and being served I realized why the prices were so low. The bowls are really small and they actually don't have much food in them at all. After my first sip of the broth, I was sadly let down. There was almost no flavor. In my entire bowl I maybe had about 10 kernels of corn and 1 piece of chashu. I wish I had known. I would've asked for extra and paid for the extra. My bf ordered the Kara-miso, spicy miso ramen and he was so disappointed. The broth tasted like hot sauce. He ordered the chashu bowl as well and was honestly more excited about that.
After finishing our food, we awkwardly waited for about 15 minutes for someone to come back and bring us our check. The new server even took the couple's order next to us, ignored me, took care of two other tables before she acknowledged me and brought us our check.
There is honestly nothing special here. The ramen tastes instant and I really hope the ramen in Japan has something better to offer than this place. We left feeling very unsatisfied.
