We visited Ocean Trails last night before the Roger Clyne and The PeaceMakers concert on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised!
I love Cajun Cuisine and this place hit the spot! Not bad for a bar type atmosphere :-) We started off with a Cajun Style Shrimp Boil Appetizer. Very good! Tipp, our Chef of the night was kind enough to provide samples of the different sauces and soups they served since it was our first time. She was awesome and the samples of soups and sauces were awesome. Trying the samples helped in making our decision. We ended up getting 3 dishes among 4 of us and they were very hearty. they gave us an option of heat (spiciness on a rating of 1 to 10) and we opted for 5 on all 3 of our dishes. We selected the Combo Etouffee (with shrimp and crabmeat) and the sauce was a spicy rich tomato sauce flavor. We also selected the Seafood Creole which had shrimp, clams, scallops and crab with a nice creole sauce. Our final selection was the Louisiana Gumbo and we decided to have crawfish from a selection of Chicken, Crawfish, oyster, shrimp, crabmeat or a combo. We had them serve it up with Dirty Rice from a selection of either Dirty Rice or regular White Rice. It was ALL AWESOME. I would rank it right up there with Pappadeaux's if not better :-)
