  • I wish I could give the company zero stars. I've had their service for over 3 years. Initially when I got the service I was renting a house and old the technician that at the end of my lease I would be moving and wanted to take the system with me as I purchased the system. Was told that was no problem. When I was moving called and told the customer service associate, they said I couldn't do that I had to get a new system. They wanted to charge me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars to cancel my contract (it was a two year contract). I old them I didn't want to cancel just move. After multiple back and forth and having to talk to the initial technician we got my system moved. I had to get a new system and didn't have to pay for it. Contract was suppose to be for 2 years. Had the service for 2 years and 8 months. Called in mid august this year to cancel the service as we have moved hous and are going to rent the house. Today they have finally cancelled the service. It wasn't done in august because he hey have no record of my call, but my partner called later in august to find out about viewing some videos and was told he couldn't because the service was cancelled. The beginning of September I get a bill for September, call and get a recording that they can't help me because of the hurricanes, if you look on line they are not located any where near the hurricane paths. I called back again before going on vacation and was told I couldn't be helped because the people that handle cancellations are not in the office (and you cannot cancel online). The person I talked to said someone would call me on Monday, I explained at least 5 times to the representative that I would be out of the country and wouldn't be able to talk to anyone until I was back in the country in several weeks. She said she would notate that. Since then I have tried calling and when calls have come from ADT and I answer the call I get hung up on. I finally was able to speak to someone today. The RUDEST customer service representative I've dealt with. She kept insisting that the service was cancelled from today even though it should be from mid-august. Then she tells me I have a 3 year contract and I told her that was wrong and sh told me "I'm sorry that you have difficulty reading". WTF! I asked to talk to her manager and she said she would see if she could find one, guess what, she didn't have a manager available. I know I don't have a three year contrac with them, I have friends that have had the same thing happen to them where they cancel their service and ADT says the still have a contrac and they don't. This company is crooked don't choose them for your security, find another company.
