| - It's been over a year since I went to LVC but decided to write a review after visiting another shop and having a much better experience. My experience at LVC was very similar to Jessica Z's in that I had a top-end $400 Mongoose Blackcomb MTB, nothing like the $4,000+ bikes they sell here, but nice (for a bicycle). I also had a Groupon. Upon entering, I was not greeted, low-pressure okay cool. Looked around for about 20-30 minutes, WOW everything was so expensive, so out of curiosity I UPC-scanned a few items to compare to Amazon and everything was very highly marked up. They shouldn't need to gouge customers with all the wind and solar keeping the lights on, but it is a very large, very nice facility. Anyway, I decide against buying anything there and just approach the counter to redeem my Groupon. The guy sitting behind the counter acted as if I was interrupting something very important. Grudgingly he took my bike in, seemingly with distain that he had to dirty his hands with a big-box store Mongoose bike. He told me when it would be ready and asked if I needed anything else. Nope.
Two positives: First, on the way out I fell in love with a $10,000 fat-tire MTB (but $10,000? C'mon, I recently bought a $250 fat-tire Mongoose, LOL and had some parts swapped and tuned somewhere else). And second, the bike was ready on time. However, I am really not sure that they did everything in the tune-up that was advertised on Groupon, because although the bike shifted better and more precisely, the brakes still rubbed a little and squeaked.
All in all, I thought the customer service was highly lacking, the attitude was snooty and stuck-up, and the place was highly overpriced.
