Now to describe CHUBZ as out of the way is not accurate as it's in Charlotte with a Woodlawn Rd address but I can describe it as interesting to get too, at least in terms of how the Google Maps lady took me. What's also interesting and may throw the less adventurous off is that it's in a strip mall that also includes a strip club and a "toy store". Think adult, not Toyz R Us. My advice would be to NOT let this throw you and go ahead in and get some food (they also have online ordering and a drive thru window if you want to go that route along with delivery w/in 5 miles for a $2 fee).
They have a number of tables and a counter where you can sit facing the grills and the dudes at work taking your order and cooking your food. I went on a Saturday around lunchtime and it was a two dude operation. They were friendly and having fun with each other as they worked as well as with customers who were clearly regulars. It felt like there was a pretty decent stream of folks coming in to eat, pick up to-go orders and going through the drive thru.
I chose to dine in at the counter and went with the #1 Double Chili-cheeseburger combo subbing onion rings for french fries. I got the burger all the way minus tomato and that meant their homegrown chili and American cheese along with pickles, onions and mustard. While the chili was good I'd say it was not the best I've ever had on a burger and the patties themselves were yummy thin Smashburger types. All in all I enjoyed the burger and look forward to having one of the others that include their CHUBZ sauce (Not sure what it is but want to find out!). The onion rings were battered vs. breaded and tasty/crunchy though this batch was definitely on the greasy side.
I left FULL and happy and can't really imagine what I'd do if I ever ordered a triple burger or their half pound variety. They also have dogs and a few other things like ribeye steak and cheesesteak sandwiches. Arnold said it best.... I'll be back.
