| - If I could, I would give this place ZERO stars. Save your money and go else where. Here's my freakin' nightmare:
4 weeks ago now, I bought a 2004 with 64k miles on it for about $7k. I put a down payment down, and financed it. Well, 30 miles away from the dealer on my way home--the car overheats. I crank the heat, get off the freeway, let it simmer down and make it home. My husband calls them and tells them that it's overheating, can they tow it? No. They don't have towing equipment. FINE. We wait until I get paid because we just spent a hefty amount, putting money down on the car, and tow it there ourselves.
Now, I called to make an appointment the day before that, and the guy gave me a lot of attitude. First off, they told my husband they open at 7, then the guy tells me, "we don't take no cars til 8"
"Ok."
'Ok, what? Are you bringing it down or not?"
"Yes." "Ok. It probably won't be ready until Tuesday, because aint nothing, aint nobody going to be open Monday, and I need time to get parts, and we're closed Saturday."
So, then I call back and ask what time they close, so I can know what time we would be able to pick up the car.
"What, girly, I can't hear you."
"What time do you close?"
"We close at 4." "4?"
"Yeah. Four. We start work at 6"
"6? Then, why don't you take any cars until 8?"
"Look, girly, I don't know what your problem is. We close at four. Just bring the car down and we'll fix it, ok."
Needless to say, I didn't call back. I had my husband handle them after that. Well, they ended up keeping the car a week and half, putting us a few days over when the lemon law is still in effect. They supposedly replaced the radiator, radiator fans, head gasket, and had the heads machined. When we got there, I would like to point out that they did indeed have towing equipment and an early bird drop off. Complete and total liars.
Well, a few days later the car started overheating again, so I took it to a shop when I had a day off, and they tell me it's the head gasket. I tell them that that was already supposedly replaced, they tell me maybe the heads need to be machined. I tell them that New Deal Used Cars supposedly ALREADY did that. They tell me that their work was clearly faulty. Now, I'm left with having to call them again and DEMANDING they pay for the repairs at a respectable shop or replace the car. I cannot believe the amount of grief this place has caused.
I bought the car there not because of bad credit, or anything like that, but because I wanted this particular car. Now, I'm just extremely fed up with the hassle, the lies, and the disrespect.
Plus, a WEEK later they changed our financier without informing us. Now, we're stuck with a shady bank that we would have never agreed to.
Never buy a car from New Deal Used Cars, even if it's what you want, and it's cheap. They'll make your life a living you-know-what and this battle will continue long after that 15 day, 500 mile period (we still have yet to make 500 miles, even though we both drive 400 miles a week to work). I will never buy a car here again, and I will make sure that EVERYONE I know knows not to buy a car here.
