| - 18 days without air conditioning and 32 days without a properly working zone control. Do I honestly need to say anything else?
Like most people, the only reason I got mixed up with AZ Trademasters was because they were assigned to me via my home warranty (One Guard). The problem I encountered was that my AC was not blowing cool air, while also short cycling (turning on and off every few minutes). A technician came out rather quickly and determined that I needed a new zone control sensor. My issue wasn't covered under warranty, so I was quoted an out of pocket cost for the repair. Seeking reassurance, when I spoke to the owner, he confidently said that this part would fix my issue.
Guess what? It didn't.
I contacted them a second time. Another technician comes out, having absolutely zero back-story on the current situation. After filling him in, they determined that I now need a new zone control board. This also isn't covered under my warranty and will result in an even bigger out of pocket cost. But that's okay, as I was, once again, assured that this part would fix my issue.
Guess what? It didn't.
After two failed attempts to fix my unit, the AC continued to not work, forcing me to contact them a third time. By now, we're passed the point of ridiculous. Unable to provide me with answers, they instead decided to "research" the issue with my manufacturer to see just exactly what could be going on. I'm sorry, but I don't have time to just sit around for several days waiting for repair people to "research" my issue.
While all this was going on, I decided to seek out a second opinion. Within a matter of hours, someone came out and very quickly diagnosed the "lack of cool air" issue, which was the result of a bad TXV. And guess what? It just so happens to be covered under my warranty. Oops! I guess the techs at AZ Tradmasters overlooked this?
They eventually did the repair, although the owner explained that I still needed additional work done on my zone control, pointing out that my unit was in need of a specific valve. I was supposed to receive a quote for the additional repair, which I requested multiple times. I never received it. Then again, after two failed fixes and such terrible communication, do you honestly think I'm going to let them do anything else to my unit?
I called my warranty company and demanded that they send out another company (Cool Blew). Guess what? The valve that they claimed that I needed was there all along! It was just well hidden and not properly set up. A few adjustments, a couple of thermostat modifications, and guess what? My AC and zone control system works. No new parts, no guess work, and no research needed. Thank goodness I didn't get duped for a third unnecessary repair.
Overall, I had a very bad experience with these people. Communication was extremely poor. The only one who has any idea of what's going on is the owner, and even his communication was on the shoddy side. I usually had to call my warranty company, who would then, in turn, call them for me - as they obviously need to remain on their good side.
Because this company was assigned to me, I had unresolved issues for over a month! If the right repair company was assigned to me in the beginning, my issues would have been resolved within a matter of days, not weeks!
Bottom line: If you're a One Guard Warranty customer and you have an issue, request that they send another company out to look at your AC. After my horrid experience, there's absolutely no way in hell I'd ever let these people near my AC ever again.
Stay away!
