| - Okay, yeah. I am going to come across as a total hotel snob, but when you put on conferences for a living you stay in a A LOT, and I do mean A LOT of hotels, resorts, etc. etc.
Skip this one and go to the Hyatt Gainey Ranch instead. TRUST ME.
The service here is atrocious. The rooms are eh. The furniture in the casitas is dated. The pools are eh. The food, overall, is eh. Their restaurant and bar hours are awkward (no bars open til 5pm). If the weather is bad, which it was the day we arrived, you're stuck out at the pool bar to pay for overpriced drinks that aren't even made well.
None of our rooms were ready when we checked in - in fact, they were all ready after 4pm - check in time. Also, since we were putting on the conference, you'd think they'd make an attempt to honor our early check-in requests. Okay, can't get us in early? At least try for on-time. Try? HA. That's not in the vocabulary of the staff here.
They messed up and put TEN of my speakers at the Zona (think low end Embassy Suites) across the street. They then told my speakers that we directed them to do so. False. Their screw up pissed off our VIP's.
The redeeming quality is the Stone Rose Lounge - go and get a fix, but don't stay here just for that.
They charged each of us for overnight valet parking when we had ONE car that we self-parked for our entire stay...that's just the tip of the iceberg. The conference concluded one month ago. We are still dealing with their mistakes.
I usually love the Fairmont chain, but not this property. Don't hold an event here. And don't believe that they are 5-star. They're not even in a nice area. I repeat - Go with the Hyatt Gainey Ranch instead.
THUMBS DOWN. WAY DOWN.
