| - Between our first test drive and our negotiation, the MSRP on our chosen Altima magically rose from the $23,000 range to the $25,000 range. They said they could "drop" the price to $22,400, but we were worried about the inflated residual in case we decided to buy the car. Since we were negotiating a lease, they set the residual value to match the $25k, at $13,000 and wanted $280/mo PLUS taxes for a $9000 depreciation, so there was interest in there somewhere. We asked the salesman what interest rate they were trying to charge us. He said there is no interest on a lease. There is, but it's called the Money Factor or Lease Factor. He didn't want to tell us, but when pushed told us it was 0.0001 which is impossible. Either the salesman doesn't understand leases or is a bald faced liar. They did everything to obscure the real numbers and tried to give us a lousy lease, then when the salesman started lying right to our face, we walked out. There is another Nissan dealership on the other side of town that undercuts this place by about $2000 per car and it's easier to get a fair deal there.
