| - Whoa! The museum is as cray-cray as Zak!
I don't even know where to start with this review. I was actually hesitant about coming here in the beginning. We actually came here first during Labor Day this year but it wasn't ready for the public at the time. We took photos of the outside. The museum opened a month later sometime in October. This museum is the latest new business to open in Las Vegas. It is not on the Strip. Came back on Thanksgiving weekend and we took the tour. The entrance fee is $34 each and an additional $10 for fees, tax and whatnot for non-residents of NV, that's $44 per person. We were given waivers to sign prior to the start of the tour. Absolutely no photography or any recording device once you enter the museum. You are being watched. Photography only allowed outside and in the waiting room (where you pay for your ticket(s).
Our haunted tour, given by Shaylee, was about 1-hour and 45-mins long. Shaylee was great in narrating the story/history behind each displays, artifacts and the vast collection from Zak's passion during his ghost hunting and Ghost Adventures days. Each room was unique and, yes, those skulls on display were real! No one was allowed in the basement, not even the the tour guides. Zak's Haunted Museum and his collection of oddities were fascinating and I recalled seeing an actual mummy, Peggy the Doll, Michael Jackson's death scene chair, a mirror owned by Bela Lugosi, Ed Gein's cauldron, Dr. Jack Kervorkian's van, a throng of working antique mechanical dolls, a room full of clowns, yes, creepy! and the infamous Dibbuk Box. This particular item is commonly known as the "world's most haunted object" and is enclosed in a glass case. The box is not opened up for the public. We want it that way. I think to view the box it was part of the waiver that we signed that we acknowledge that some of this sh%*# may cause spirit detection activity, interaction with the spirits and unexplainable phenomena and paranormal activities and that they are not liable for any emotional distress, damage to property, bodily injury or even... death! whut?? Yes, we signed our spirits away by signing that waiver.
We arrived at the museum around 4:00p. The wait wasn't too bad at that time but shortly after as it got dark the line got crazy long. Guests have to be at least 16 years of age to be able to join the tour. Our tour guide, Shaylee, was entertaining and knowledgeable about all the displays. We liked her... great job! I've read many of the reviews that some of the guests had feelings of sickness, dizziness, and nausea upon entering some parts of the rooms in the house. Some even needed to have some cleansing... whoa! I walked out of there just fine. I'm glad the spirits aren't drawn to me.
P.S. Hubby is a big fan of Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures... Zak, Nick, and Aaron back in the day. He has followed them since their first paranormal experience at the Goldfield Hotel in Goldfield NV and Washoe Club Museum & Saloon in Virginia City NV.
