  • I'm a little underwhelmed by Markham Bakery-Cafe. It's surrounded by INCREDIBLE food places, but honestly, the pastries don't live up to the quailty of the places surrounding. Here's why. First off, the prices are super expensive. Like I understand when places like Lucullus hike up the prices but offer fillings and pastries that are noticeably richer and tastier, but the buns here are just average, if not worse than typical. $5 for 6 small egg tarts that don't even taste that good? :( The buns are incredibly dry too. The displays don't do a good enough job at keeping the pastries fresh. This results in buns that get rlly stale by the afternoon. The filling is REALLY watery and there's not enough of it. The bread to filling ratio is kind of ridiculous actually. TLDR this place is a mediocre bakery with slightly higher than average prices. Would definitely opt for other options for dessert in the area.
