Was in the neighbourhood one day and desperately seeking coffee. So my daughter and I stopped in. Parking was challenging and we ended up having to park almost 2 blocks away.....I don't mind walking but only for good coffee ;).
We entered the cafe and there were 2 people (together) ahead of us and 1 waiting for a coffee order. Since we were not stopping to eat just grab a cuppa joe I didn't bother to check out the menu board. When we got to order our coffee I found out they are cash only. Yes I am taking points away for this. We live in a technology driven world and there is no reason why any business should not be on board with a debit machine. The little "cash only" signage on their cash register should be larger and more obvious so it's seen before you get to the counter. The cash only sign on their menu board is great for those ordering off the board.
I further noted the lack of customer service from the guy taking orders. I was watching him with the 2 ladies ahead of us and he was either in a bad mood or simply not customer service driven. At one point when he should have been pouring a lady coffee as she waited he was more interested in a guy showing him his tattoo.
In the end we waited almost 10-15 minutes for my cappuccino to be made. The barista apologized for the wait citing they had a rush. I looked all over and couldn't figure out where the rush was, I must have missed it. The coffee was OK, I've had better, I've had worse.
With all the great coffee joints in town I probably won't return, but I do recommend checking it out if you are in the area, have cash on you and are in need of a coffee.
