I've called Mt. Washington "home" for 9 years now and, I have to be honest, the view of the city from Grandview Avenue never gets old.
It's worth the trip up here just to take in the breathtaking views, but there's so much more that "the mount" has to offer. If you want your view paired with some of the best food in the city, try Altius. Looking for a kick-butt craft cocktail? The Summit will do you right. If hidden gems are more your thing, try Kavsar, the city's only Uzbek restaurant. In need of some coffee and conversation? Cafe Cravings is the place to be.
There are also a TON of hiking/mountain biking trails that run up and down alongside the mount. Our Emerald View Park boasts a growing trail system that offers 10 miles of trails featuring loops that range from one to four miles.
For out of towners who only have a limited amount of time in Pittsburgh, I always recommend a ride on one of the inclines and a walk to one of the overlooks to marvel at the beautiful city. It never disappoints.
I love it here.
