This is truly one of the coolest things I have ever ever done. I have tried all types of "new age" and/or "eastern" approaches to mind/body/soul rejuvenation's. I don't know how I had never heard about it. I had posted Joe Rogan's clip on facebook "what is reality" and then a friend had mentioned he loved him and wanted to get in one of his float tanks. I was like wtf is that? So good ol google..... Rogan had a clip on it, and after watching I had to experience it. So I looked it up for a AZ location and came onto True Rest.
The facility was nice, and Katie the front desk girl was awesome. After getting all set-up and walked through the place I was stoked on getting started. Yes, if you have a hard time shutting down your mind you will not get nearly the benefits. With my meditation practices I feel like I didn't have too much trouble getting comfortable.
The buoyancy of the water was incredible. soooo cool. After about 5-10 minutes you don't feel the water anymore. You don't feel the air, you start to lose sense of even being in skin. I then realized that I was still squeezing my eyes shut lol. After releasing that tension I also realized I was still partially holding up my neck. I was then able to fully and completely "let go". After focusing on my breathing I was able to start hearing my heartbeat and the literal vibration of it it in the wholeness of the water so I started to pay attention to that, and less on my breathing. Almost forgot that I was even breathing. I then started focusing on my third eye. intently. intensely. And then..... I passed out. Had like 5 different dreams. vivid dreams. The only way I know is because i partially woke up because of intense body movement due to what I was doing in the dreams. All of the sudden.... I started hearing music. I thought I was making it up. Then it got louder and woke me up. I couldn't believe an hour had gone by. Felt like 20 minutes. I could have stayed in much longer.
Way cool experience....... Definitely do it again. Oh, and did I mention Katie was awesome?! Haha highly recommended. Give it a shot!
