| - I went to this restaurant not reading any reviews, but my husband did the quick research. While walking through the hotel, trying to find the place, I noticed an ad about the chef and she starred on the show Top Chef. I admit, I was being judgmental for a split moment- thinking it was going to be a nose turned up place. This restaurant appeared to be 20% filled and we were asked twice if we had reservations. Can someone please explain this to me?
Either way, we were seated immediately, water came along with free fresh chips and 3 variety of salsa. Say, que? Oh yes, the tortilla chips were fresh and the salsa were all mild spice to my liking. The server offered a spicier version as an option, but we just stuck with the initial offerings.
The tacos were stellar, filled with large chunks of fish and definitely well worth the reasonable price tag of $18 for 3 tacos. The right amount of cabbage, picked radish, avocado and the star was the seasoned fish.
With a quick yelp check-in deal, we got free green corn tamales to try. Accompanied with sour cream and a acidic version of the pico de gallo, this was a great compliment to this very sweet treat.
Make no mistake, this is not your average Mexican food joint. The food was excellent and it will surprise you.
