I am in my 50s and waiting for a hip replacement. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights to attend a Conference. The high points are: it is attached to the MTCC, the staff were very helpful, the rooms are quite large, the pillows and mattress were wonderful, the furniture - particularly the reading chair - are comfortable and easy for some one with a mobility issue to use. The low points are: staff asked me if I would like to be switched into an accessible room - I said only if it had a tub and the staff person admitted that the rooms really aren't accessible just more accessible, well she wasn't kidding; the tub has all the right bars but it is a regular tub and very hard to get down into, the toilet seat is raised (hooray!) but there are not bars around it so hard to get on and off, the sink is not wheelchair accessible - I am not in a wheelchair but just saying; the door sill between the hall and bathroom is uneven and so high on one side that it is a tripping hazard; several floors - including the one above me - are under renovation and when I went to have a rest the second day because I didn't sleep much the night before as roaming around the MTCC to attend meetings had inflamed my joints - the drilling was like being in the dentist's chair with the volume turned up, and the gift shop for a hotel this size and this pricie is too small! I can't really fault the hotel for the fact that I ached so bad I couldn't go down the steps into the pool - it looked nice - but I did manage to get in the hot tub and it was not only enjoyable but really helped ease the pain. Would I stay here again? It was so much more convenient. I don't think I would have managed 3 days of the MTCC (so big!) if I had to go farther than the InerContintental. If I was mobile my preference is the Royal York.
