The Staff at Virgin Mobile sold my 80-year old father a locked old iPhone and a 2-year plan that only allows him to store 3 voice mails and no data for $80 a month.
He gave up his land line and message machine (that's right)! He came to me asking "why can't I store more than 3-voicemails doesn't the phone have storage? I had to explain the very abstract concept - "Yes your phone has storage - but Virgin stores your voicemails on their servers and for the next 2-years you can only store 3 voicemails at a time."
YUP - the Virgin's revenue model "is designed to exploit seniors!"
