Brought my kids and my friend's kids for some tutoring in math and writing. The staff and the owner are very nice and friendly. The concept sounds good: it's basically a very structured and extremely gradual completion of exercises over and over. All must be done by student at home and checked and graded by parent, then in class it's basically more of the same with a group of kids with one tutor who just sort of sits there. There is no tutoring in a traditional sense. Also, a cancellation policy that means paying for 2-3 months more even after you decided not to continue. What's the purpose of this?
Update: I agree that it's a respectable program. And this particular one works for some children. However, each location sets its own policies, including the cancellation. That's when the children for whom it doesn't work, have to still pay for a few months for basically nothing. Or maybe it is to cover some costs. For several hundred dollars, I felt there should've been some explanation at least.
