I like the idea of assigned seating, and a larger seat. For me this is 3/5 stars alone, but having gone to the Etobicoke location now 4 times I can sum up why I lower this to 3/5.
- Food service is expensive and just plain bad - they are not a restaurant and it shows. I won't go into detail but words like cold, flavourless and processed come to mind. In my opinion the food was very disappointing at any price.
- the movie service has been mixed, one time really great and another we showed etickets, all the machines were down so we stood in line to get help for a 1/2 hour missing the start of our movie. The surly woman who "helped" didn't give a crap and seemed annoyed when I told her that we were missing the start of our movie. The whole point of digitally receiving tickets is convenience but they somehow managed to make this the opposite.
- Drink service, no surprise is very expensive but also slow and problematic. It took us an hour to get drinks the last time there. You'd think that when paying 10-20$ for one drink it would show up promptly. When trying to pay all my credit cards were rejected and so were my date's 2 cards, finally debit worked somehow- looks like they had a merchant services issue at least that one time. "So sorry sir - drinks are on the house! We will resolve this issue" was said by no one.
For what it's worth this is only my anecdotal experience so far, still will go and see a movie from time to time but it's a shame that the VIP experience is quickly becoming like the regular movie experience, with a better seat for twice the price.
