  • Well darn...the search for a good nail salon continues. Went to this salon based on other yelp reviews but I have to say, my experience was barely OK. First, there was no one in the salon. I'm there for a basic manicure and pedicure. As I sit down to do the pedicure, another technician pulls up a chair next to me to start on my manicure. I guess this is fine except that it's incredibly uncomfortable to sit with your feet completely facing forward and then have to twist at the waist to have your hands all the way off to the side and a 90° angle. It was just really uncomfortable especially for the hand that was on the opposite side... As far as the manicure goes... It was pretty bad. All I wanted was my nails cleaned up a bit. I did not want them painted. From start to finish, it took less than 10 minutes. She did not ask me what shape I wanted them and so what I ended up with was straight across on the tips and pointed corners. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of an important phone call so I wasn't really able to stop and give direction but seriously, who would ever ask for nails filed straight across with pointy corners? She also ended up cutting one of my fingers which is a massive pet peeve of mine. Pedicure was OK... I think it's interesting that they set a timer to make sure they massage long enough but then don't actually pay attention to the massage. She spent the entire time twisted around backwards so that she could talk to the workers who were sitting in the chairs opposite me so she sort of distractedly massaged but not with any real purpose. Painting my toes was also very uncomfortable... She forced me to have my heels up on the rim of the tub with my feet pointing downwards towards the foot rest where your feet usually sit. It was a really uncomfortable angle and she kept forcing my toes down... I'm not sure why I couldn't just just have rested my feet on the foot rest... I have no idea why she needed my heels elevated on the side of the tub with my feet in an awkward angle pointing down but again... It was just really uncomfortable. After she finished painting my toes, she disappeared. I sat there and then finally took the paper out from the between my toes and put my own shoes.
