We were entertaining out-of-town family and we ended up deciding on checking out Wigle Whiskey for a tour. It was a fun experience and the staff was very attentive and informative, and were very communicative regarding our questions. The whiskey was not bad and I found several favorites, not an easy feat as many craft breweries cannot say the same about their samplers!!
My only complaint is that the experience is too homegrown and extremely limited. There's no food to crunch on nor ability to mix the whiskey with Coca~Cola products, even upon request. That left a sour note in my mouth and leaves the Wigle Whiskey experience as a one-note kind of experience, not one warranting a return trip.
From the moment you discover this limited experience and begin to watch other parties come and go with the very same experience you are undertaking, Wigle feels more like a gift shop with someone explaining to you what those gifts are rather than exploring more of what the gifts are all about and the potential of the gifts. Hence the large display of gift packages and us...buying a gift box for someone, however, that's the structure of Wigle and they are successful as is as a hipster-stylized gift store operating in a cool industrial district. Oh well. But definitely check it out at least once with a good group of friends to enjoy the experience.
