| - As soon as we drove past this place, we knew we had to stop in. Having just returned from the UK, which is a pie bonanza, we were happy to see this place! Sauntered in for lunch, and sat on the comfy couches. This is one of those places, like Camp, which are cropping up all over the city, with lots of homestyle Canadiana on the menu (and in the decor).
Unfortunately they were out of the veggie pie, but we each ordered the beef and chicken pies respectively, which were good, and they came with a small side salad. They were not overly sauce-y and had a lot of meat in them! Crust was also stupendous. We also took a bumbleberry pie home, which was super delicious as well! The guy who was our server was super great, wrote heating directions on the box and was fun to talk to! We will be back again.
The only complaint I have is that the price of their pies is super steep, and their pricing for slices vs a whole pie is also way off. It is $25 for a pie (!!!!!), and I think, $5-$5.50 for a slice of pie, which is 1/4 of a pie! How does that work?? Is there no volume discount? Is there no pie god?
However, the pie is also crazy good, so I shouldn't complain too much. I will be back to hang out on a rainy day.
