| - I stayed here with two friends earlier this Summer. I was excited. It's THE BELLAGIO. It always sounded so fancy and luxurious!
The lobby is beautiful. It's just like I would have imagined. Lots of marble, etc. The rest of the hotel is pretty meh. Casino is fine, but not really that amazing, just nicer than most of the others that I've seen. Conservatory is kind of pretty, but when you actually get in there it's sort of cheesy. The nicer restaurants were pretty good, while the others were pretty average.
We reserved a fountain view room, but the room they placed us in actually had a charming (not) view of the parking garage, with a teeny tiny view of the fountains out of the very left of our window. Come on. If you didn't have a fountain view room available that's fine, but at least let us know. We paid extra for absolutely nothing. We called down to the front desk and they were very unapologetic and unhelpful. I expected much better customer service. Besides that, the room itself was very disappointing. It is expensive to stay here, and I would have expected a really wonderful room, but no. It was like any other boring room in a very average hotel, and actually not as nice as some places I've stayed in DC or NYC for less.
The only part that I really enjoyed was the pool. It was like being in Greece or something with all the fountains, and the different pools. The décor was beautiful. You could rent one of the cabanas, but I don't think it's necessary. I do wish they had one pool that was specifically for children and that children were not allowed at any other pools. I hate to be a grouchy adult, but no grown person enjoys being splashed in the face.
Vegas is a "special" sort of place, and I don't think I'd really want to stay anywhere else. Most places look so gross! But it's not much of a recommendation that I would stay at a hotel only because all the other options are so horrendous.
