| - Ah-mazing! We love parks and this one is one of the best in Toronto!
The grounds are so well maintained and are just overall lovely. After traipsing through the the main entrance of the park in which there was an ongoing Celtic festival with bagpipes, kilts, and all, we played near the baseball field lined by a row of houses. The neighbors were out working in their lawns and houses, very friendly. After playing fetch with some of the neighborhood kiddos, we made our way to the off leash dog beach area.
For a Sunday afternoon I was quite (pleasantly) surprised at how few people and dogs were in this area. But the people and their dogs were well mannered and played nicely together. The sand is a bit rocky/pebble-laden, but I was grateful that people cleaned up after their furry ones. Poo-bags are available at the entrance in case you forgot yours. Very nice touch.
Once we had our fill of the dog beach area, we headed to the boardwalk for a walk along the beach towards the harbor. It was a gorgeous sunny day, not too hot or cold, and there were a lot of walkers, bikers, and sun bathers. Towards the harbor is a long series of volleyball nets up which were quite filled up with people who can play rather well (enjoyable to watch).
Once we made it to the harbor, it opens up to more lawns and some rather nice scenic views of the boats in the harbor and on the water, the adjacent beach with volleyball players, and an incredible sunset. Lots of people fishing and plenty of benches available to sit and take in all the views.
Will definitely be back!
