| - I used to go to SeeFu on the regular but I switched to a barber shop a few months ago because I preferred the way they cut men's hair. But, because my usual location was fully booked for a while, I decided to revisit my old favourite location.
The first thing I noticed was that the price increased. It's a fair price for a woman's haircut but for a man's haircut I thought it was pretty steep ($30-$40) for a mid-range hair salon. I didn't mind paying a slightly higher amount at the SeeFu Yorkville location because it does have more of an upscale feel to it, but the Spadina location just looks average and provides slightly less perks (shorter hair wash, no massage chair while getting shampooed, no offer of tea or water). Also, considering that barber shops are becoming more popular among men, and they tend to cost way less, I don't know if I'd be returning any time soon.
The cut itself was good. My stylist was Eiko and she cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it, so I would definitely request for her if I ever return. The massage was also amazing as usual, and she really took her time, which was nice.
Aside from the price, my major complaint is that the other workers need to be mindful of the other customers and the other stylists trying to do their job. It is very distracting when one worker is shouting her conversations across the salon with other coworkers and customers. Sure, it might make your own customer feel more welcomed, but it's just distracting to everyone else and I can tell that even some of their co-workers were annoyed but didn't want to say anything.
Anyway, if you can overlook the steep price for a men's haircut, I would recommend this place for an overall good experience.
