I don't know that there are really any other options for boarding in cu. Here's what this place has going for it: outdoor runs, super nice dog lover lady that runs it, and it's dead cheap.
When I first dropped my dog off there I was a little worried because it was not sparkling clean (but I am an idiot, why did I expect a sparkling clean kennel??), but he was in great shape when I got him back. Both times I boarded him there they bathed him for free. I expected him to be miserable and dirty when I got him back (because that's how my childhood pets always were when they got back from the kennel) but he wasn't, either time.
They're pretty awesome about letting dogs have their own food, bedding, and toys from home, too.
The only thing that prevents me from giving them 5 stars is that they took my dog the first time even though he hadn't had his bordetella shot (I didn't know he had to have one and it wasn't part of his standard puppy shots). While I am grateful to them, because I would have been seriously screwed if they hadn't taken him, it does worry me a little that they will take dogs without shots.
