| - Delicious, belly-warming, perfectly-spiced food in a cozy atmosphere. Friendly service, reasonable prices. I will definitely be back!
The details: We decided to go here on a whim on a Wednesday night. The restaurant is in what feels like a formerly residential space, which gives it a cozy/quaint vibe. There were a decent amount of people, but there was enough space for us to get a table. (There is a small bar area that I would have eaten at had there been no tables.) Right after we sat down, a server came by with water, a bowl of olives and peppers, and a candle. Just the right amount of cozy. Service was thorough and paced just perfectly so that we still had some of our remaining appetizer hummus by the time our main dishes arrived. Warm pita bread would have been amazing, but the room temperature pita was fine. We ordered the fattet makdous, which the waiter had said was delicious. And, holy moly, it was AMAZING. Layers of lamb, eggplant, and pita chips (who knew?!) with tahini and tomato sauce. Eat mouthfuls with a spoon, smear it onto pita bread, or stick it with a fork--any way you eat it, it's so good. We also got the kibbé labniyé, which are falafel-like balls stuffed with beef in a yummy tahini and yogurt sauce. We didn't order dessert because we were full to contentment. It was a great meal, and I will be back, especially in the winter for their stick-to-your-ribs dishes .
