The food at drift feels clean and fresh, like food you would make for yourself if you took more care in selecting the ingredients and more time to prepare it.
I adore Drift and lately have been finding myself there once every couple of weeks.
They just changed their menu and some of the new stuff is truly great. The smoked rainbow trout appetizer, served with crostini, lemon ricotta, and pickled onions, is pretty special. It's light and fresh and really flavourful. I would recommend any of the Drift salads, but right now the one featuring pomegranate seeds and breaded goats cheese (if you're a goat cheese fan) is wonderful. Not to mention, their homemade ketchup is the best I've had so far and goes nicely with the crisp, well seasoned fries.
I think pints cost more now than they used to but they still have a great selection of St. Ambroise beers and tons of cool stuff behind the bar.
Definitely definitely will be back.
