Yet another throw back to a more simple time. The architecture is superb and is a testament to the old world pride of craftsmanship. I could wander around here all day and let my mind dream of what it must have been like back in the day when horse drawn buggies were the norm.
All I can say is I highly recommend everyone take a trip to MTL and take the time to appreciate the old world charm before that too gets replaces with some awful modern monstrosity. I hope that never happens, but weirder shit has.
Yes it is a tourist trap, but its a tourist trap like none other. Just go and then you'll understand what I'm talking about. At the edge of Old MTL is a beautiful park like setting to view the Saint Lawrence river. Take a picnic and have a nice lunch down ther and avoid the over priced, mediocre cuisine offered at many of the sidewalk cafes.
