  • This is my first ever review on yelp because I'm upset with the way my dogs were returned to me. I won't go into too much detail but more suggestion to Camino Al Norte animal Hospital. Have a team meeting. Explain to employees it is not ok to return animals to owner with feces on them. Just because the doctors, owners, and front desk managers have common sense...we all know that hired help doesn't always. Also reorganize how things are done from the moment of check in to the animals leave. Things are getting missed and skipped over, accidents happen but the order of events should check and double check charts. Have a boarding board in the back. With each patients name, feeding schedule and amounts of food. Any meds they are on and how often. Walks. All can be written with check boxes next to them for the amount of times a day. When that tech or kennel asst. completes a task. Check it off. Along with cage lists of what time things were done and what was done. If vomit or diarrhea occurred. Constantly check kennels and runs for feces/urine/vomit/diarrhea. If these things a present, clean it, mark it on the chart. Using the first letter of the situation. Meds shouldn't be forgotten. Luckily mine was just for Diarrhea...not a life or death situation. And the biggest thing of all!!! If I could underline this I would bold and all caps!!!! Maybe not have so many front desk people. One or two that know everything. Instead of 4-5 that everyone knows something. Causes confusions from the start. Slow down. There are only 5-6 examination rooms. TAKE PRESSURE OFF THE FRONT DESK!!! Have them greet people, make appointments, send out reminders, make phone calls and keep files organized. Put a scale in the front. Tech can come up when called from front desk for an appt. weigh the pet, take you to an exam room. Get vitals and enter everything into the chart. Weight, temp., issues pet is having. Then go talk to the doctor about that chart. The doctor can come into the room knowing exact issues and can go from there. Minimizing confusion and stress at the front desk. Who are trying to answer phones, figure out why your dog is there, check out the people who just left room 3, answer the question from the other front desk girl, sell the old cat lady 16 bags of k/d and ends up missing what meds your dog is on while boarding! Just some simple suggestions. Let's be honest...it's time for change.
