My husband went in to the salon this evening and asked the staff if they knew how to taper hair. They informed him they indeed knew how. He asked for a LOW taper and after all was said and done, they gave him a HIGH fade. He now has a military hair cut!!!!! Now, while I myself think that's all fine and dandy for military men..... that's not my husbands hair cut! He told her that it was not a taper, that it was a fade and she said it was the same thing!! If you do not know what a taper is..... DONT ASSUME!! Just say "no, I'm sorry. Let me ask the others if they do" and move forward. Don't assume and jack up someone's hair and 2 days before a quinceanera! Please make sure you're not guessing on people's hair. Be honest. I spoke to the manager, Melissa, who informed me she was the person who cut his hair. She informed me that barber schools teacher different lingo than cosmetology schools. Also that in cosmetology schools women only spend a day learning to cut men's hair!! I said " isn't that a sports clips geared towards men?" She said yes..... seems to me if women are going to work in a men's industry..... learn the lingo.
