  • I rate this establishment a cool 5 stars. I was looking for something to knock a star off (I prefer generally not to give 5 stars because nobody is perfect) but no luck. This new Spin Dessert Cafe location (opened fairly recently) is the real deal. The food is awesome. Tastes great and looks like all kinds of yummy. And I'm not even talking about the dessert options yet. They sell savoury options as well, and since I'm not much of a dessert person, I opt for these most often at any dessert place. However for a dessert place, I'm very (very) impressed with the quality of their food. The pizzas are really good, and compare to many standalone pizza joints I've been to. I was recommended the pesto chicken pizza and the butter chicken pizza (yes you read that correct). FYI: This Spin Dessert Cafe location is halal, they serve beef bacon strips, and do not serve alcohol. The dessert options are plenty. They all look so delicious. As I'm not a big fan of sweet dishes, I am extra critical of them. However I gotta hand it to the Spin guys because from cakes to crepes to good old milkshakes, I satisfied my sweet cravings and would definitely go back for more. I've got my eye on their home made pumpkin pie; that thing looks divine. The ambiance is nice and lively, even when filled to less than half capacity. Decor is cool and lightens up the space. It's also worth mentioning that they offer complimentary wifi. Service is so amazing that I need to say that again. The service is AMAZING. Forget about waiting for the wait staff to come around. They are there constantly checking in on you to see if you're okay and if you need anything else. If you've read other reviews of mine you'll know I'm a stickler for service. The staff here will make you feel like a VIP each and every time. They're open late on the weekends (of course), but also on weekdays (they close at 11:30pm on weekdays). For a brand new establishment, I think these guys have done a great job in these early stages. I can really see a customer following being built up around this place. It's unique to the surrounding area, serves halal as well (high Muslim population in the area), and the bar that they hold their standards to is pretty high. Spin Dessert Cafe in Scarborough is, hands down, my new favourite dessert place. See you there! PS- I edited this review to add that their coffee and espresso is suberb. Lots of places I visit serve watered down, disgusting coffee - but not this place. I think they have an espresso machine from Europe (France maybe?), but regardless, that espresso was top notch. I am a caffeine freak as well, and their coffee had enough kick to it, and tasted great.
