I've been wanting to visit a Bake Code location for the longest time but just never got the chance to. However, a few months ago I went to the on on Woodbine in the evening around 8-9pm and majority of the pastry and baked good were gone so I didn't end up getting anything. This time I just so happened to be at Hillcrest right when they opened so I decided to drop by Bake Code.
First off, the cost of each bread/pastry was much more expensive than other bakeries but I thought, I need to try so I didn't mind spending some money on it, lol. I got the Matcha Creme Croissant ($4.50) and Earl Grey Tea Flute ($3.90).
The Matcha Creme Croissant had a nice flaky, crisp exterior (I usually don't like croissants to be flaky on the outside but this one can be an exception) and the inside was filled with so much Matcha Creme!! It was very rich and creamy. I wouldn't mind repurchasing this in the future, but it is quite expensive.
The Earl Grey Tea Flute smelled nice, but the buttercream was a tad too sweet for my liking. I probably won't be repurchasing this in the future.
I think I may have came too early, idk, but there were no samples given at the time and I wish they would have some because it would help me decide what I wanted.
Would I come back? Probably. Once in a while though to try out their other breads.
